Nurse Biome™ LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Nurse Biome™ educational platform, including our iOS/Android app and website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services. By using Nurse Biome™, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: Your name, email address, and learning profile created during signup and onboarding.
• Learning & Performance Data: Quiz attempts, answer history, flashcard interactions, study streaks, concept map completions, and skill practice sessions — used to personalize your learning experience.
• Study Content: Study plans, teach-back responses, and AI tutor conversations you initiate within the app.
• Device & Usage Data: Browser type, operating system, IP address, device identifiers, and session activity for security, analytics, and performance monitoring.
• Payment Information: Subscription billing details processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full card number or CVV. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data.
• Analytics Data: We use Google Analytics and internal analytics tools to understand how users interact with the platform (e.g., pages visited, features used, session duration). This data is aggregated and used to improve the product.

3. AI and Adaptive Learning Features

Certain features within Nurse Biome™ utilize adaptive systems and AI-assisted educational technology to personalize learning experiences, explanations, recommendations, and study support. This includes:

• Your Neuroadaptive Tutor — generating personalized educational explanations based on your question and learning type.
• Practice question generation and rationale explanations.
• Flashcard generation and study plan creation.
• Teach-back feedback and scoring.
• Image generation for visual study aids.

AI responses are generated dynamically and may be cached to improve performance. Your prompts and study content may be used to generate AI responses but are not used to train third-party AI models. AI-generated content is for educational purposes only and should not be treated as clinical guidance or professional medical advice.

4. Educational Use Disclaimer — No Medical Advice

Nurse Biome™ is an educational platform for nursing students only. We do not store, process, or handle any real patient data, protected health information (PHI), or clinical records. Our platform is not subject to HIPAA as we are not a covered entity or business associate under HIPAA definitions.

Nothing on this platform constitutes medical advice, clinical guidance, or a guarantee of licensure outcomes. Always defer to your nursing instructors, clinical preceptors, and licensed healthcare providers for clinical decisions.

5. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and improve the Nurse Biome™ platform.
• To personalize your learning experience based on your study history, learning type, and performance data.
• To generate AI-powered educational content tailored to your learning profile.
• To process payments and manage your subscription.
• To send service-related notifications (e.g., account confirmations, subscription updates). We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.
• To analyze usage patterns and improve platform features through aggregated analytics.
• To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, security incidents, or unauthorized use.

6. Analytics & Tracking

We use Google Analytics and internal platform analytics to understand how our app is used. These tools may use cookies or device identifiers to collect aggregated, anonymized usage data. We use this data to improve features, fix bugs, and measure engagement — not to sell your data or serve targeted advertising.

If you use our iOS or Android app, Apple and Google may collect device-level analytics as described in their respective platform privacy policies.

7. Subscriptions & Payment Data

Subscriptions are processed by Stripe (web) or through Apple In-App Purchases (iOS). We receive confirmation of your subscription status and plan type, but we do not store full payment card numbers. For Apple In-App Purchases, your payment is handled entirely by Apple and governed by Apple's privacy policy and Terms of Service.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with the following trusted parties solely to operate our platform:

• Stripe — payment processing
• OpenAI / Google AI — AI content generation (prompts only; not used for training)
• Google Analytics — aggregated usage analytics
• Cloud infrastructure providers — secure data hosting

All third-party providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.

9. Data Retention

We retain your account and learning data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are legally required to retain it.

10. Account Deletion

You can delete your account directly within the Nurse Biome™ app by navigating to Profile → Delete Account. Account deletion permanently removes your profile, learning history, study plans, and associated personal data. This action is irreversible.

If you are unable to access the app, you may also request deletion by emailing us at nursebiome@gmail.com. We will complete the request within 30 days.

11. Children's Privacy

Nurse Biome™ is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

12. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS), access controls, and secure infrastructure. No system is 100% secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and enable any available two-factor authentication.

13. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your personal data
• Opt out of certain data processing activities
